the n’sync syndrome |

contestant #8:
you know what reverend, if there’s one thing i really don’t understand about us people, its the funny irony of giving too much time and effort on the things we say we hate. may it be other people, other ideas etc…
dya remember the i-hate-boy/girl-bands era in the late 90’s and early 2000’s? people were running up to the hills just so they wont get identified with the bubble-gum-poppin kitties and the new batch of NKOTB cutties. we’d hear stuff like “i hate them lame-ass boy groups, singin like fags on a sunday morning, i hate that shit, i hate it!!!” and heads came riding the bandwagon, even the cats that havent even heard a single track from any of them groups joined in. idunno, maybe at that time it was the “in” thing hehe.
i guess my point is, i mean, seriously, hahaha, d’we really waste time on things we say ARE waste of our time? things that we say are crap and dont have any worth? i think it cancels the logic on that shit. if its shit, then why in noah’s name are we breakin our neck about it? so we listen to judas priest or 50 cent or nirvana and we say its the real music, its the right music that people should be listening to, cmon, do we really think it matters to them pop-lovin kids what we got on our ipod?
i think maybe we just want to feel good about ourselves. that we know better. that we ARE better than these people and the wack music theyre digging. its kinda like a defense mechanism. we’d say negative stuff about something even when people aint askin just so we’d have something to hold on to. something to justify why we’re here now listening to our old records and screaming from the top of our lungs that vinyl is still the real deal. but aint nobody listenin, just us and the people who are also stuck in the confined circle-of-heads reality. and also sometimes, this is funny as shit, we once liked listening to them pop acts. ![]()
what d’ya think reverend, am i making any sense here? you know its not only about music…

my sister bought backstreetboys first EP back in the days, and she played it like the CIA’s mindcontrolin my head. i think i still remember every line of every track…
