okay, i gotta agree that choosing an employee of the year and giving her/him a free notebook is one nifty idea. though maybe the admin can make it like 5 or 7 employees of the year hehe. there’s alotta staff that deserves it. (im not including myself btw, i got bad lates and some Corrective Action Notices hehe) after all, this is a company that brings admin people to hongkong and amanpulo for free.
anyways, here’s the part that i and alotta coworkers found somewhat hilarious…
cmon, Php15k for your loyalty of 5 years? im not saying 15k is nothing for me, im saying that most staff (including me) thinks that 15k extra bonus for 5 years worth of work is kinda offending.
i hope someone from the admin gets to read this. this aint just a leftie’s voice tryin to be a smartass over everything the admin is cooking up. i understand the company wants to keep the staff happy and at bay, but maybe the admin should take this 5years-15years bonus thing back to their drawing board. this company aint really the place where you can see yourself after 3 years (unless you’re UPPER-UPPER-UPPER management) and say youve become successful in your career, let alone 5 to 15 years! that’s suicide. i mean, theres no growth. say, you start off as a designer, after 2-3-5 years, what position will you be in? still a designer? the most you can be is a project manager. you were lucky to be in that position after dellwood.
my point is my friend, if you can’t get what you want or can’t get what you feel you deserve, then in my opinion, resign.

You can never be happy in your life if you continue to look at the opportunity of other people. The hongkong trip is an opportunity for the admin staff, the amanpulo is an opportunity for the other company’s admin staff and others have opportunities as well that they may or may not deserve. But you can never stop other people’s opportunity the only thing you can do is to create your own opportunity.

Wow, certainly didn’t expect this one to be a subject of a heated debate.I agree with “x” though, Zoo did the right thing by putting this issue into writing because mas maganda na rito kesa sa iba pa malagay, hahaha!
To be fair, Iweb is a great company and I love it to bits though I can’t help but notice whenever someone raises a valid point, people tends to react a little too quickly. From what I read, this post is nowhere near on starting a revolution or shit like that at all. Keep in mind, the bulk of employees working for this company are artists. Dapat objective tayo. Tama si Lui, this is not just a random reklamo, it’s actually a great way for the company to know what the employees are feeling about all these touchy issues. Zoo is just helping you guys out.

25k in 5 years with trainings (real ones) and laid off career plan for employees (sample lang), sometimes kasi the staff feels na walang movement career wise sa iweb, now if iweb is serious about talent retention then they should reconsider.

Pero bigyan din natin ng chance ang admin to hear their side about this issue at kung ano ang pinag basihan ng 15K vs. 5years, dapat siguru i-base din nila sa level ng employee:
i.e.
Employee#1 earning 50K/mo.
Employee#2 earning 20K/mo.
I don’t think #2 will agree to have the same 15Kvs5yrs benefit with #1 or the other way around.
I say a percentage[12% ;o)] of that earnings would do him/her a favor and it gets accumulated every payday, then that person will receive it in 5years or when that person leaves the company in less than 5years or AT LEAST more than 12months.

like i said sa post sa taas, if you wanna say something, lalong lalo na kung negative shit about sa admin or sa staff, ilagay nyu real names nyu. para fair sa lahat. kung napansin nyo, those peeps who really have something constructive (again) to say about this matter used their real names/nicks/sites/emails. @drift: yep, i believe iweb has come a long way, mula sa maliit na unit dati sa 8th floor sa antel makati kung san siksikan kami nun at mainit ang sikat ng araw sa umaga dahil walang blinds. wala pa ata 20 ang staff sa dayshift nun. at wala pa din mga benefits nun.

guys wag nyo ng hintayin ang 5 years for 15K, bakit hindi na lang tau magtrabaho sa araw at sa gabi. pwede rin during weekends and holidays.

This awards thing is better that nothing at all. Some companies don’t have this. Whatever iWeb’s purpose, they deserved to be thanked for.

@jeffrey: apparently you misunderstood my post as go-shove-this-up-your-ass-iweb!. again, what i was trying to say was its a good idea but maybe it needs some tweaking in favor of both the admin and the staff. and there’s been some good suggestions above. suggestions, after all, is not one of the 7 deadly sins. and its pretty obvious man that iweb’s purpose on this is to keep talented heads here at the company, now dont you think good suggestions/thoughts from the staffs themselves can be very useful for the co?
if you think im spreading disgust with my post, i gotta tell ya that people here aint that dumb to go jackie chan on the admin just by reading someone else’s thoughts. minsan pareho minsan iba laman, pero lahat may kanya kangyang utak. and im just sharing mine.
