i think these are the two best covers of nine inch nail’s hurt song from their 1994 studio album, The Downward Spiral.

this is Johnny Cash’s rendition, released around 2002. Cash died in 2003. Trent Reznor liked the cover so much he considers it “a song that is not his anymore”.

and here’s a cover by sevendust back in their acoustic gig in 2004. Lajon Witherspoon didnt sing the lines though, but still, it wasnt bad.
