manong, asan na tayo? :D

“…it was kinda weird and funny how some of the people i came across with and noticed what i was carrying would smile, idunno what they were thinking, but i smiled back to everyone of ‘em, it felt automatic. this would only be the second time i did such thing, and it feels strangely good :D and the fact that the end-result don’t really matter just makes it even better…”

a formula for a steady-lang weekend :)

***spend hours of the friday evening with the boys looking for some brand new poker chips while constantly harassing people at greenhills with impromptu street dances and anger bursts.

***order up and get them bellies aching in one of them chinese restos in the area, food is considered war.

***dodge the friday traffic while breathing second-hand farts in the car and listening to gangsta rap, trash metal and elvis presley.

***buy 3 generoso and 4 lipton redtea litros. and sacks of eaji and lala. and a rimworth of golds, reds and greens.

***play poker. one wins almost 5 grand. the rest of the boys loses but gets a free quarter pounder each at 3 in the morning.

***get dropped off at makati by bino at around 5am, since an old friend is just around the area, text her for a couple of cigs. excited stories of how john beat us all at poker and how someone’s fart was literally set aflame.

***the early morning chill comforting, decide to walk to salcedo park for its saturday market. waited for the market to open. early morning talks over coffee.

***scout the market for whatever i can bring home to my mum and dad in batangas. found tinapang bangus, peeled fresh lanka and fresh assorted bagels. breakfast, hot off the grill tuna belly and huge tilapia. thanks sa thin bread :D

***board a bus to lipa at around 10:30 in the morning, robinson’s lipa at 12 and grab 3k worth of groceries for my mum.

***magmano ke’ tatay at naynay. small talks with pops over the thin breads. at around 3pm, bawi ng tulog.

***sunday. after 18 hours straight of sleep, get up and fix some coffee and smother a bagel with lotsa cream cheese and finish the current book.

***more cream cheese and more bagels… ;))

bim,

i may not understand the irony of it.
but like how we used to say…

things can only get better…

they always do, eventually. :)

justifying jimmy

**lyrics by the gorilla jumper
**music by the man-eating gorilla

just when you wanna dry up,
its the rain breathing on your side.
just like jupiter’s moons got shot,
you wanna leave but you just cant fly.

just another sunday drive,
these trees are waving smiling slight.
and just as your mind starts to lie,
you wanna breathe but you can only sigh.

but nothing is like everything
but everything is just like nothing
so its alright, just like this thing…

’cause sometimes!
the wrong things in life…
are the ones that feel so right, so right.
’cause some days!
the best times in life…
are your split seconds without headlights.

just when we think its real,
blood comes rushing to wash the paint.
and just like how we said our prayers,
you and i know we both lost our names.

but nothing is like everything
but everything is just like nothing
so its alright, just like today…

’cause sometimes!
the wrong things in life…
are the ones that feel so right, so right.
’cause some days!
the best times in life…
are your split seconds without headlights.

’cause sometimes…
the sweetest thing in your sight…
is just there because you’ve lost your eyes.

the n’sync syndrome

contestant #8:
you know what reverend, if there’s one thing i really don’t understand about us people, its the funny irony of giving too much time and effort on the things we say we hate. may it be other people, other ideas etc…

dya remember the i-hate-boy/girl-bands era in the late 90’s and early 2000’s? people were running up to the hills just so they wont get identified with the bubble-gum-poppin kitties and the new batch of NKOTB cutties. we’d hear stuff like “i hate them lame-ass boy groups, singin like fags on a sunday morning, i hate that shit, i hate it!!!” and heads came riding the bandwagon, even the cats that havent even heard a single track from any of them groups joined in. idunno, maybe at that time it was the “in” thing hehe.

i guess my point is, i mean, seriously, hahaha, d’we really waste time on things we say ARE waste of our time? things that we say are crap and dont have any worth? i think it cancels the logic on that shit. if its shit, then why in noah’s name are we breakin our neck about it? so we listen to judas priest or 50 cent or nirvana and we say its the real music, its the right music that people should be listening to, cmon, do we really think it matters to them pop-lovin kids what we got on our ipod?

i think maybe we just want to feel good about ourselves. that we know better. that we ARE better than these people and the wack music theyre digging. its kinda like a defense mechanism. we’d say negative stuff about something even when people aint askin just so we’d have something to hold on to. something to justify why we’re here now listening to our old records and screaming from the top of our lungs that vinyl is still the real deal. but aint nobody listenin, just us and the people who are also stuck in the confined circle-of-heads reality. and also sometimes, this is funny as shit, we once liked listening to them pop acts. :))
what d’ya think reverend, am i making any sense here? you know its not only about music…

reverend jeo:
my sister bought backstreetboys first EP back in the days, and she played it like the CIA’s mindcontrolin my head. i think i still remember every line of every track…

contestant #8:
you know, for a reverend, i dont really like you…

d’oh!!!

okay, i gotta agree that choosing an employee of the year and giving her/him a free notebook is one nifty idea. though maybe the admin can make it like 5 or 7 employees of the year hehe. there’s alotta staff that deserves it. (im not including myself btw, i got bad lates and some Corrective Action Notices hehe) after all, this is a company that brings admin people to hongkong and amanpulo for free.

anyways, here’s the part that i and alotta coworkers found somewhat hilarious…

15k for 5years?!!! doh!!!

cmon, Php15k for your loyalty of 5 years? im not saying 15k is nothing for me, im saying that most staff (including me) thinks that 15k extra bonus for 5 years worth of work is kinda offending.

and here's another one

i hope someone from the admin gets to read this. this aint just a leftie’s voice tryin to be a smartass over everything the admin is cooking up. i understand the company wants to keep the staff happy and at bay, but maybe the admin should take this 5years-15years bonus thing back to their drawing board. From the words of the Great Bastard Ed of Dellwood USA… “we need some revisions.”

***thanks to all who commented, especially the constructive ones. i suggest that if youre gonna say something here (positive or negative) about the admin or the staff, use your real identity :) tama si lyn! and sa mga nagtatago sa dilim, haha loko kayo! salamat na din sa pansariling opinion nyu
